Having high expectations for students in preparing for postsecondary education often means that personal expectations also need to change. This tool asks practitioners to identify their role in creating the changes that will enable all students to prepare for extended learning opportunities.

Purpose
|
To help practitioners examine their role in ensuring all students are prepared for postsecondary education.
|
|
Outcomes
|
Practitioners will be able to define what they routinely do that influences either schools or outreach programs in ensuring all students are prepared for college.
|

How to use
|
The tool can be used as an individual self-assessment or as a discussion starter in meetings or professional development activities.

When to use
|
- Beginning of the discussion or planning
- As new stakeholders join the discussion

Directions: Many people are needed to create schools and outreach programs that ensure all students are prepared for postsecondary education.
- Place a checkmark next to your present job title.
- Read through the framework column.
- In either the “Direct Responsibility” or “Support Responsibility” columns, list specific tasks you do that relate to each of the five areas. Leave the boxes blank if the area is not part of your job description.
- Answer the reflection questions. This can be done in writing individually or in discussions with a partner or a small group of other practitioners.
