Create Awareness
- Hold an orientation session. Think about who needs to be involved in a discussion about increasing postsecondary preparation for all students. The list could include central office administrators, counselors, teachers, and outreach program staff.
- Make sure everyone has access to and understands the Framework. Overviews of the five components may be distributed as handouts.
- Other tools that are available to support conversations about postsecondary preparation for underserved students are:
- Talking Points
- Issue Information
- The College Track video documentary
- Assessing my Role
- Mobilize a team to take next steps. The case study about the community effort in the Hamilton County schools is a helpful starting point.
